I was actually given this microwave cover plate as a gift from a friend and I am really impressed. At first I didn't think I needed another cover plate because I already had two other ones and they seemed just fine. However, my first two plates were a much cheaper plastic and they were a lot harder to clean and actually melted a little bit over the years. This new one I got is a clear plastic that cleans up as clear as glass. It made me realize how poor of quality my old ones were.
