The size is perfect for making soups and stews for a family of four. It heats up evenly and the lid and handles stay cool. It's not too heavy and clean up is a breeze. I'm just sorry that I didn't purchase two when it was only $39.95. I could kick myself!! This is the first piece of Circulon I've ever owned, and I regret that I hadn't considered this line sooner. This Dutch Oven is going to be a work horse in my kitchen.

I'm using this pan on a glass-ceramic cooktop. It has a nice weight to it...not flimsy & lightweight, but sturdy & not too heavy. The handles are comfortable & easy to grip.I use my dutch oven for many different cooking purposes. This evening I was running out of time & didn't get my meatloaf in the oven on time. So I divided it up into 6 flat loaves, browned them in the dutch oven, added a little water & my meatloaf sauce, put the lid on, turned the heat to medium, & turned the mini loaves over halfway through cooking time. My stovetop meatloaf was done in about 30-45 minutes. During the cooking time, this pan was holding the heat evenly & nicely so & I had to keep turning the heat down until I was cooking the loaves on low. Dinner was great. Because of Circulon's non-stick surface, clean up was quick. I put the lid in my dishwasher & washed the pan by hand.

Care Instructions:
Use low to medium heat
Do not use non-stick sprays. However, you can safely use cooking oils (non-stick sprays will cause an invisible buildup which will cause food to stick to the pan).
The exterior of hard-anodized pans is porous and can stain. Clean with a paste of baking soda and water.
Do not put the pan in your dishwasher.
I store my non-stick pans with a paper towel in between them to protect the surface from unnecessary scratches.
