I love the design and color choices, but there were some quality control slip-ups in the kettle that I received.
The pot is generally good quality. The only let down w.r.t. quality was the way the enamel was applied to my particular kettle. It appears that they over-sprayed, for lack of a better description, the enamel near the spout. So much so that it appears bumpy near the spout. It is a light imperfection in an otherwise perfect product.
There were no such quality issues with the black enamel on the interior of the kettle.
I like the general design of this kettle.
The handle swivels out of the way for cleaning, and it has a large lid opening on the top that allows you to get your whole hand inside the kettle for cleaning.
The enamel is not overly glossy, more toward a eggshell finish. The finish feels rubberized, so there is not likely to be lots of slipping while you are washing it.
One of the best features on this kettle is the whistle. The whistle has a nice gentle sound, and sounds more like woodwind instrument than a sports whistle. The whistle is hinged and locks in place when you open it so that you can poor without having to hold it open.
If not for the slight imperfection in the finish, I would have given it a full five stars; because that is how happy I am with it. I would say that it is a 4.5 stars, but Amazon does not support 1/2 stars.
I recommend it, especially if you are not put off by the possibility of a slight imperfection in the finish.

I purchased this teakettle for my elderly Grandmother whose hearing is not what it used to be. I was hoping that the harmonic hum would be low enough for her to hear. While it does have a very pleasant hum (much less startling than the normal high pitched whistles) it is a very quiet hum. I, with my 24 year old hearing, could barely hear it when the water was boiling. I was disappointed with this result. On the other hand my Grandmother loved the material with which it was made. She thought it was a very high quality kettle.

What's the mystery? It doesn't whistle. My partner got this for me today and on the first boil: No whistle.
I just stood there watching water evaporate while the tea leaves boringly awaited some musical water on my teacup. I read on another review (same kettle but red) about someone who had this issue and recommended adjusting the screw on the whistle, so I tightened mine a bit.
Second boil: Very low almost pleasant whistle though not something you may expect to hear from another room. Someone else compared it to a "train hum", to that person I say: please exchange kettles with me. I decided to give it another go, feeling doubtful about a definite fix.
Third boil: No whistle.
Now about the rest: feels firm, looks great and it heats water. If you like the looks, give it a go, just don't stray too far from the kettle or your water will surely dry out.
