Every once in a while Amazon runs a screaming deal. This pan was priced at $8.08, including super saver shipping, about two weeks ago, and that caught my attention. The pan, while made in China, is absolutely gorgeous, heavy, and stamped as waterless cookware. It comes with a limited lifetime warranty card. If the pan fails within the lifetime of the original purchaser, it will be repaired or replaced free. However, you will be responsible for shipping cost both ways. The further good news is that while this pan does not come with a lid, it will accommodate standard 8 inch fry pan lids. I happened to have a Farberware lid that fits perfectly.

March 10, 2013 update: I love this pan, which has held up beautifully, through countless dishwashings, and it still looks brand new.

We purchased an induction cooktop and needed some pans to replace the old aluminum with teflon coating pans that were long overdue for replacement. We wanted a small pan for cooking for two. This 8" pan had the desired multi-layer construction, heat distributing core, and a magnetic layer to work with induction.

The performace is great! I have cooked a variety of foods, and the pan really performs. The key is to get the pan hot, then add the food. Then I turn down the heat, and that thick bottom plate continues to cook the food. Heat is distributed very evenly across the entire bottom of the pan. As long as the pan is hot before the food is added, sticking is really kept to a minimum. But if you do get food stuck on the surface, cover it with a little water, quickly bring to a boil, then cool and soak for a few minutes, the sticking food will come right off.

I also added a 'Farberware 8-Inch Glass Lid' which fits great, and a little 'Bar Keepers Helper' cleaning powder to keep the pan looking new.

This is not a good pan. We bought other Waterless Cookware on Amazon and love it, be also bought this as a small frying pan since our set only had one huge piece and we have been very disappointed with it. Food stick on this really bad and it does not clean easy at all, unlike our other cookware. Also the handle is not welded to the pan as the picture shows but uses two divers that go through the pan. The problem with that is that food and bacteria gets stuck in the divers and takes away from the health benefits of using surgical steel for cookware.

I just received this little pan today. I am currently switching to SS pots and pans from non-stick ones for my entire cooking. Until 15 years ago I used to use SS pots and pans (and also iron pans) so I am comfortable with how to cook on SS. This little pan is amazing, I mean, for the quality at this dirt cheap price (I paid a little less than $25) I would have paid much much more. I cooked eggs on this pan tonight on my induction cooktop. I heated up the pan well (until the water beads up and evaporate) then add oil then flied eggs. Nothing got stuck and the eggs came out beautifully and delicious. Cleaning was so easy. I don't understand why someone could not use this pan with success, probably they were not so familiar with how to cook on cookwares other than non-stick.

I highly recommend this pan to anyone who is serious about cooking. The delivery was fast and secure, too.
