I prefer non-toxic cookware which is why I purchased this item.

I don't own a microwave, all of my cooking is done on an electric stovetop and an oven.

For cooking vegetables, meats, and foods cooked with adequate liquids, the Visionware has been great.

I use this roaster not only to roast meats but to cook baked beans.

It cleans up nicely when you soak it and scrub it out with a plastic scrubber, if need be. I then place it in the dishwasher for a thorough cleaning.

I have used Visionware for about 22 years, including this roaster.

The very important thing here is if you have chipped, cracked, or scratched cookware, it is recommended that you discard it.

I would recommend carefully checking your cookware before your first use and on occasion. Look at the bottom of the pot and look for the tiny expansion notches. You will want to make sure that there is no cracks radiating outward. I have purchased some used ones on eBay that I had to return due to that problem as I refused to use them in that condition, and I specifically asked the seller to make sure that their pot did not have this problem before shipping it to me.

You will also want to avoid scratching it with metal utensils.

However, there have been some complaints about exploding Visionware (Google is your friend) by those who claim they did nothing wrong, though I suspect that in many cases, there was a breach in the product the user was unaware of.

I believe that a significant number incidents can be attributed to thermal shock such as running cool water in a hot pot, placing the hotitem on a cool surface, or putting the cookware on a heat source with no water in it.

Corning no longer manufactures this product.
