This Thanksgiving I decided to cook a turkey breast for a small gathering. I have a full-sized Calphalon roaster with V-rack that is Cooks Illustrated approved. The problem with this pan is that it barely fits the oven and it doesn't fit inside the dishwasher. In addition to this pan I also own an All-Clad Lasagna pan which is basically a 13x9 roasting pan with handles positioned horizontally instead of vertically. It is often on sale or sold as a promotional item and it is a true All-Clad bargain. However, the official All-Clad V-rack won't fit inside the Lasagna pan, ostensibly, so that people are forced to purchase an official All-Clad roasting pan.

This Norpro 275 rack fits inside the All-Clad Lasagna pan perfectly with the adjustable wings raised slightly. These wings actually allow you to cradle the roast perfectly so that it doesn't move. I was actually able to position the turkey breast with the breast meat closer to the top of the oven to achieve more even cooking. The rack was sturdy enough to handle the 9 pound roast and though it slid a little inside the pan, it remained well positioned and balanced. Unlike similar racks, the 275 is chrome-plated and it didn't flake off; I was also able to run it through the dishwasher. The rack can also be used in the flat position as an extra trivet or cooling rack. The price is reasonable and with $3.99 one day shipping, it was at my door on the day before Thanksgiving. I'm almost ready to give up my Calphalon roaster!

I needed a small adjustable roasting rack, as I am usually cooking for two and this means small roasts and chickens vs much larger pieces of meat. I opted against a nonstick design because I kept reading about problems with the coating coming off on the food. This product is not non-stick so it has no such problem. It still cleans up ok but hand-washing can be a bit of a pain. Folds flat for easy storage.

I wish the adjustable aspect of it was a little more sturdy. The feet come out of the grooves fairly easily when trying to position your meat, which is a not that big a deal unless you like to rotate your meat halfway through cooking. However once positioned it is fairly sturdy and could probably hold a much larger sized roast or bird than we usually use in our house. For the price I would definitely recommend this if you are looking for a smaller sized roasting rack.

Couldn't take the "non-stick" variety anymore as the non-stick layer peels off during the first use, sticks to the roast and winds up being thrown out thereafter. This one has not peeled or flaked and only takes a little more soaking to get the food off. It is as light as the non-stick versions so there is no telling yet if it has any better durability over all.

When my mother in law passed away i couldnt borrow her adjustable roasting rack anymore and no one knows where it went. I had searched all the stores to buy one for her son. I found this on Amazon and it was here way before Thanksgiving for him to use. Every time we have used this our meat turns out perfect. Needless to say so did our turkey this year. It was the best 25lb turkey ever..... Thanks mom!! Yes this Norpro 275 Adjustable Roasting Rack held a 25lb turkey and it was wonderful.... I HIGHLY recommend this.

A wrack like this is impossible to find. I have read that Teflon and other coatings release toxins, so I looked for a roast ract that had adjustable sides to hold a chicken on its side and was not coated. This is perfect. I love it. And it cleans very easily when sprayed with Pam.
