I have to give a Zojirushi airpot five stars. Zojirushi is known for their airpots. They are the best. Period. My mom had one, not the premier model, just the regular one, for almost fifteen years. I just bought this one with the special pump. I have to say that I expected it to look cheaper than the one my mom had, but I was wrong. I've noticed that after over fifteen years, they still make their products the way they used to. What surprised me the most is that they are still made in Japan. Zojirushi airpots are pricey but they are worth every penny you spend. They last longer than other airpots and keep the water hot for more hours.
Update: I forgot to say that it's better to fill it all the way up or at least half of it because if you pour inside only a cup of water or coffee, it will be warm the next day, not hot.

I make coffee for the folks at work because the coffee in themachines is nasty. It tastes like it's cut with barn clutter.
We got a surplus cabinet and I put this Zojirushi airpot into it. Asian friends always seem to have one in their kitchens and the liquid pumped out always looked quite hot even though they filled the airpot the evening before. They said, "Look for the airpot that has the elephant logo." I did. I bought one from Amazon and it was here in two days. We couldn't be happier.

Some hints to keep the coffee hottest: Fill airpot with water just under boiling temp to preheat while you are brewing. Get a Pyrex microwaveable 2 qt. measuring cup. Microwave your coffee to just under boiling and pour into pre-heated airpot. This will keep your coffee steaming all night. Do not heat your coffee in a pan on the stove. You'll get a bitter burnt taste. Microwaving in glass doesn't have that disadvantage.

We had to use an airpot because hot plates on coffee brewers are not allowed in our workspaces. The airpot was the perfect solution. Don't buy an inferior airpot from another company. Most are only rated 4 hours. This lasts all night.
The 2 litre container holds 18 cups of coffee. I may have to get a bigger airpot because good coffee goes fast.

Coffee: Be picky about your coffee. The longer coffee sits in any container gives it time to get bitter. Avoid any coffee with a hint of bitterness. It will only tend to get more bitter. I've tried several brands and have discarded many for bitterness. Don Francisco Columbian is good with a medium price. Stater Brothers Columbian has been pretty popular, and many specialty Arabicas taste pretty clean. Listen to your co-workers comments about the
coffee you brewed that particular day. Make note.

Warning: Airpot will leak if tipped. It is not leakproof. When
transporting by car, make sure airpot is well blocked-in to prevent tipping. Keep it upright!

I have been using the Zojirushi Air Pot to store hot green tea. It looks sleek and beautiful on a table in my husband's antique shop and it keeps the tea hot and flavorful all day. I had been been worried that it might leak or drip after pouring but this has not been a problem. It is quite easy to clean, as well.Honest reviews on Zojirushi Premier Airpot
This item was a gift. I give it a pretty good overall rating, but one part was not up to expectation. The method of removing the top section for cleaning purposes is very rinkydink and depends on being able to lift up that section to the exact angle (55 degrees according to instructions)where the holding device will give way, then snap it off in a precise controlled little yank or it still won't separate. You have to stand there flapping the top section (the black plastic part shown in the photo) back and forth until you feel the removable apparatus just start to come loose, then jerk it quickly to the left. The plastic clasp or hinge that holds this apparatus in place seems minimal and flimsy, and I suspect that with some wear (especially that flapping...) it may erode to where it can't hinge or clasp anymore; however, at that point I think the pot would still work even if the dispenser top is just sitting there with gravity for its anchor.
I like the easy and smoothly functioning dispensing lever and sturdy carrying handle. The design is streamlined and fits well on a countertop, too. My suggestion for the manufacturer is to improve the removal technique for the top section.

This is my first pump pot and I wasn't sure how high my expectations should be. I am really wonderfully impressed. At the recommendation of my cloth diaper guru I keep this pump pot full of hot water to use to warm bottles and wet cloth diaper wipes. I slowly draw down the volume all day. When I fill the pot with water from the tea kettle even the very last few ounces, ten hours later, will come out scalding hot. I've started to fill it with less-hot water because the darn thing retains heat so well that I burn myself. (I have never tempered or preheated the pot.) In addition, the pot is easy to fill, operate and clean. To fill, the lid flips back 180 degrees, which gives great access. To clean, the lid is easily removed altogether. When I ordered it I didn't realize that it had a swivel base, which has turned out to be so useful. The swivel has a smooth, quick action that is handy when maneuvering tea cups, etc around other stuff on the countertop to get at the spout. And lastly, the ss finish cleans up very easily. I expected it to spot like my ss fridge front but with the pump pot the spots just wipe off with a damp cloth. This thing is awesome and I'd order another one in a heartbeat.Update a year later: still going strong! Hint on retaining heat: keep the pump lever in the closed position as much as possible. It DOES make a difference.
