I am very glad I bought this Tajine instead of the traditional clay one because the latter, I've heard, tends to crack easily. I love the quality of this product even though it is quite heavy but it should do well in the oven as well as on the cooktop. I have made several dishes on the stove and my only complaint is that it didn't come with any instructions especially care of the cookware or perhaps a few recipes. Its been a bit of a search for good cookbooks or recipes but I've found a few. I don't own a Dutch oven so I don't know if this is just a fancier way of cooking the same food, but, overall, I'm pleased with it.
