To preface, I had become so sick and tired of having to 'soak & scrub' my stainless steel pots and pans with steel wool pads, (due to my husband's utter lack of culinary skill, thus burning the pans all the time), that I had been contemplating a Non-Stick set to see if that would work better for us, (well, really for me, *lol*).
Now, I was going to start with a single skillet, (what brand I didn't know), but when I saw Emeril's set, (over on 'H'), March 10-2013, I thought, 'what the heck', and went for the whole magilla. I got the 11-piece set in the CHAMPAGNE colour.
There are a few differences between the 10-piece set advertised on this page and the 11-piece set I got. They are:
1) The 11-piece set provides a lid for the 10" skillet.
2) The 3-qt saucepan in the 11-piece set has 2 'helper handles' as opposed to the one long handle featured in the 10-piece set.
3) The 11-piece set has a 5-qt sauteuse pan instead of the 3-qt in the 10-piece set.
As well, I would like to mention that the lid for the 3-qt saucepan fits the 8" omelette pan in the 11-piece set. So, that's a boon. SEE PICS

I received the cookware in a couple of days and, boy-oh-boy, am I glad I got it. Both my husband and I have been cooking up a storm and, (no matter what he burns-up, *lol*), the skillets and saucepans just WASH-OUT with absolute ease!
1. The cookware has HEFT. Indeed, the pieces are almost as heavy as the stainless steel set I have.
2. But, unlike the stainless steel, the riveted HANDLES on the pans, (as well as the LIDS), are covered with SILICONE, (NOT 'rubber' as others have stated), and DO stay cool to the touch... no more having to constantly look for, and use, potholders or mitts, or fuss with a kitchen towel. What a godsend that is.
3. The RIMS of the cookware are tapered in such a way so that when you pour 'whatever' out of the pans, there's no dripping down the sides... another plus.
4. The pots and pans can go in the oven to 410-degrees; the lids to 350-degrees.
5. Dishwasher safe.
6. Safe to use on all cooktops.
7. Did I mention how easy they are to clean? *lol*. A quick rinse with a soapy sponge and you're done. Because of this ease of cleaning, we wash and dry the pans immediately, (no more soaking! no more scrubbing!), and put them away for their next use.
What a blessing this cookware is. I hadn't realized just how much I DID NOT want to cook anymore because of the clean-up of my stainless steel cookware! As an aside, when the bottom of the pans get dirty, you can clean them with steel wool pads cuz the bottoms are stainless steel themselves... or use Barkeeper's Friend or some such... you know the drill.
All-in-all, I am very, VERY happy with this cookware. I cannot tell you how thrilled I was to clean-out my cupboards of all the 'drudgery-laden' stainless steel and put this new set in. Yep... I'm back in the kitchen again... only this time with joy!

For those concerned about PFOA and PTFE, (and, FYI, PFOA is used to make PTFE which is 'Non-stick Teflon'), I came across this quote on Emeril's cookware site, (you'll have to search 'Emerilware' because they won't let me post the link here, sheesh)...
FAQs-Question 11: "Is Nonstick Safe?"
"EMERILWARE's NONSTICK SURFACES DO NOT HAVE HARMFUL PFOA GASES."
__________________________________________________________________
Having done some research about this, (because I was considering a 'Non-Stick' cookware set for the first time in my life), let's put all this in perspective shall we?
MICROWAVE POPCORN BAGS contain 6-to-290 parts per billion PFOA.
NON-STICK COOKWARE contains ND-to-4.3 parts per billion, (ND means 'Non Detectable').
__________________________________________________________________
Continuing my research, I found this...
THE WASHINGTON POST, JAN 26-2006 (again, you'll have to search for it)
HARMFUL TEFLON CHEMICAL TO BE ELIMINATED BY 2015
"The Environmental Protection Agency, will force companies to reduce manufacturing emissions of PFOA by 95 percent by no later than 2010. They will also have to reduce trace amounts of the compound in consumer products by 95 percent during the same period and virtually eliminate them by 2015."
The article went on to say,
"Scientific studies have not established a link between using PRODUCTS containing trace amounts of PFOA, (such as microwave-popcorn bags or nonstick pans), and elevated cancer levels. Hazen said yesterday's announcement should 'not indicate any concern... for consumers using household products' with such coatings."
('Hazen' is Susan B. Hazen, acting assistant administrator of the EPA's Office of Prevention, Pesticides and Toxic Substances)

Now remember, all this business, (with the EPA and DuPont et al), took place back in 2006. Since then, Consumer Reports stated in July 2009, "Overall, PTFE cookware is considered an insignificant exposure pathway to PFOA."
Thus, I think it's safe to say that Emeril's 'Non-Stick Essentials' cookware is more than safe to use. And I'm so happy I got mine, *vvvbs*. You will be too.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I have had the opportunity to review a couple of cookware sets, including the Rachael Ray Hard Anodized II Nonstick Dishwasher Safe 10-Piece Cookware Set, the Circulon Acclaim Hard Anodized Nonstick 10-Piece Cookware Set and T-fal E938SA74 Professional Total Nonstick Oven Safe Thermo-Spot Heat Indicator Dishwasher Safe 10-Piece Cookware Set. This is a typical basic cookware set, consisting of an 8-Inch Fry Pan, 10-Inch Fry Pan, 1.5 quart Sauce Pan with Lid, 3 quart Sauce Pan with Lid, 3 quart Sauté Pan with Lid, 6 quart Stockpot with Lid.The pans feel fairly heavy and sturdy and they have silicone grip handles to prevent burned hands when removing hot lids. This set is rated as dishwasher safe unlike many sets. Even so, I would recommend against throwing these in the dishwasher you'll find that you get far more life out of a cookware set when you wash them by hand. If you so desire, you can move the pots and pans from the stove top to the oven as long as you don't exceed the maximum recommended temperatures.
One common concern people have about nonstick cookware is the safety or long term health effects of cooking on Teflon, PTFE and PFOA cookware. This cookware is "nonstick" which classifies it as PTFE based (polytetrafluoroethylene) or Teflon (a brand name of the chemical compound). PFOA is a chemical used in the production of PTFE. This cookware documentation states it does not outgas PFOA. Note that Teflon is an inert substance, so even if a piece of it flakes off your cookware and you ingest it, it will pass through and will not harm you. However, if you heat a nonstick coating beyond its intended heat range, say to 500F, then the Teflon breaks down and can become harmful to birds, pets and humans. This is why you should never pre-heat nonstick cookware to a high temperature (i.e. searing).
I tried cooking a variety of items in this set and it performs rather well. I think it cooks as good as the Circulon set, better than the RR and heats more evenly with less hot-spots than the TFal. It's heavy gauge will not warp as quickly as the RR or TFal set will. I like that the saucepans have a pour-spout it makes life easier when you need to drain something while keeping the lid on. The fry pan is a little on the small side for cooking for a larger family but it does nicely for a smaller group (2-3) people. You would probably need a 12" fry pan for larger jobs. Otherwise, this is a nice starter set made by a great company. My only gripe was how the lid on the sauté pan was somewhat "leaky" while cooking.
Overall this is a set I would readily recommend. It has what you most need and the quality is high. Be sure to use appropriate utensils, no matter what anyone tells you. If you take proper care of any cookware set, it will last a fairly long time. I think this cookware set should be near the top of your list, especially if you are either needing a first set or if you are replacing a worn set.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program The old KMart non-stick pans we got for our wedding many years ago have been upgraded.PROS
Very heavy duty pan design, especially the actual base of the pans. The thick aluminum base transfers heat very quickly, bringing the interior of the pan to temp in a hurry.
Very 'sticky' rubber handles. Comfortable grip with a nice thick rubber-dipped handle.
Heavy duty rivets hold the handles to the pans securely, with no surfaces left to rust or oxidize.
The non-stick coating felt great. My wife was concerned when cooking tomato soup that the soup sticking to the pot would have to be scrubbed off, but it actually washed off very easily by hand. I put another pan in the dishwasher to test it out and it came out in great shape, even on the sanitize setting.
Dishwasher safe
CONS
The handles on the lids are very small. Each is about 1/2" thick and maybe 3" long. Even then, the rubber coating only covers the very center of the handle. They were not comfortable to hold while stirring with my other hand. They need to be a bit longer, or thicker. I have large hands, but they still felt very slight.
The lids are a little loose when covering the pots. Not a huge gripe, I just thought they should fit a little tighter to match the quality of the build. Maybe this is to prevent a vacuum when heat and moisture build up?
Plastic and wood utensils are recommended. Again, not a big deal, I'm sure this is to protect the non-stick coating.
Overall, I'm very happy with the set. The biggest knock are the lid handles, so beware if you're cooking with them frequently. We don't often leave the stove unattended while cooking, so we do not use lids very often. A durable, quality collection that should hold up for years to come.
