This bag is perfect for extracting whey from yogurt and making yogurt cheese. It's a good size and held 1 quart easily having room for 2 to 3 more. The fabric gauge is thick and allows for the whey to come through easily while keeping the curds from seeping through.

My problems with it are the following. The seams are not sewn well, as mentioned in a previous review. The edges of the fabric is unfinished, left to unravel and on this bag about a 1 inch length of the seam was not sewed. So if you don't mind sewing the seam shut it's really not a problem just an inconvenience, then it's no big deal. Secondly I had to boil & rinse it 3 times to get the "yellow" to stop showing up in the water which takes me to my third problem. The item is made in China.

Is it really going to cost more to have this product made here in the USA? I would pay an extra few dollars if I knew that 1. the seams were sure and finished, 2. there was no yellow dye/color/product bleed off and 3. it was made in the USA. Having said all that I would buy this again but I will first look to see if I can find it made in the USA.

This cheese bag works really well and saves messing about with cheese-cloth and bits of string. I was a bit worried about the size, but it is fine for curds from a gallon of milk. It also cleans up well (they say not to use soap) and just needs a quick soak in boiling water before you use it. I recommend it.

I make yogurt and like to thicken it without using gelatin. I fasten this bag to my yogurt container with a rubber band and suspend it over an empty bowl, over night in the fridge. I used to use cheese cloth but this bag is much sturdier and can be reused indefinitely, with cleaning between uses of course. I'm sure if left to drain longer it makes yogurt cheese, I'm just not into it.

I just made some good cheese with it. It works, it gets the job done. I haven't compared it with other cheese bags but it seems quite sturdy and survived my washing machine just fine it seems to be a little tougher than a typical article of clothing.

Design-wise it's just right, no frills and nothing fancy, but using a bag instead of loose cloth solves a few problems cheese-wise. You can just pour the curds in and not worry about spillage.

I used to use coffee filters in a colander to drain my yogurt. I would usually let it drain for between 12 14 hours to get a lot of the whey out of it. However, using this bag, I let it drain for 7 hours before I checked on it, and the yogurt was already nearly the consistency of cream cheese. I can TOTALLY see how this would work for making soft cheese.

It easily fits a gallon of fresh yogurt no problem at all. And, as another reviewer noted, cleanup is pretty easy. I just turned the bag inside out and scrubbed it with my hands (no soap), rinsed it thoroughly and hung it up to air-dry.

So, if you're into making your own Greek-style yogurt but don't want to sit around and wait for it to drain, get this bag.
