I am very pleased with the Weston Hamburger Press. It is a high quality machine that makes uniform hamburgers very quickly. I am especially impressed with the spring release feature for the hamburgers.

i purchased this double patty maker because i was tired of pressing chop meat into patties with the lid of a can. this item is sturdy and well made, and easy to use, but the cleanup is a hassle. to clean the interior you must unscrew the plungers and be mindful of not losing the springs. and the meat does stick to the top of the presser, i believe the remedy for the meat sticking to the top of the presser is a spot of spray oil. i use a large piece of wax paper on the bottom instead of small cut wax paper. it can make thick quarter pounder sized burgers, which i like. overall im quite satisfied, despite the messy cleanup.

I did not purchase this item Weston Double Hamburger Press from Amazon but I'm so glad I have one.

I buy lean ground meat in bulk or sometimes grind my own.

I never seem to be able to make a burger by hand that doesn't cook up into a wad resembling a meatball instead of a burger patty....lol

I've tried several of the el-cheapo plastic burger presses but without satisfactory results. Whether a single or double plastic, even the three piece type it was very hard to get the burger out and there was no consistency in the thickness from one to the other. My solution to the sticking problem was to spray the mold with Canola oil. As you can imagine, if you're doing up 20 lbs. of burgers the over spray is pretty messy. Even doing so, I'd have to bang the mold on my kitchen table several times to get it out. Hard on the table and hard on me. Then I would put them between wax paper sheets to freeze individually.

As you have probably guessed if you have read this far, I cut my own wax paper instead of buying the precut. Why pay for something you can make yourself with very little effort or expense. Just my take, do as you choose.

I bought this with some hesitation because of the cost but if time is money this has paid for itself.

There is an adjustment on it for the thickness of the burgers which is super because they all turn out the same.

No more spraying with canola oil (savings right there). I cut my wax paper as normal, put one piece on the bottom, add the meat, another sheet of wax paper and I'm in business. Just press down on each one individually and you've made your patty to the thickness you want. I then stack them on a cookie sheet to freeze before packing into a freezer bag. No more canola oil, no more banging on the table.

I can process the same amount of meat in about 1/8th. the time and I only have to wash the press. Not the table from overspray or banging to get them out.

The last batch I made were the "gourmet" type using seasoned feta cheese and thawed chopped spinach. I have made cheddar and bacon before and some other varieties at probably 1/3 rd. the cost of the local super market.

In addition, it's nice to know exactly what is in your burger. I don't recommend using anything less than 90% lean because unless you cook them right, they have a tendency to be dry after coming off the grill.

I like the double press because it speeds up my "production" time. If I only have enough meat for one at the end, no problem because each is individually controlled.

Give it a try and let your creative taste buds have a no hassle whirl at it.

Works fine, saves time. Need to push the burger a little bit to get it to fill out the area completely, but otherwise it works good.
