I came back from a trip to Italy in which I saw a chef on TV using fine tipped tongs and decided I had to have them.
I found these at a local kitchen shop that carries Rosle utensils.
These are in use daily in my home. They are by far the best for flipping bacon,
scallops, prawns, getting olives from jars, and that piece of shell out of the frying egg, etc. etc.
My husband now wants a pair of his own. We have also used them on several occasions in non-kitchen applications. i would recommend them to everyone, and have given them as gifts several times now.

I've found this very useful for turning food on the skillet --the small size of the tip makes for very good grip on small items of food.

Simple, effective, easy to clean, and grips thin food very securely. I like the lack of a lock. The good part is it doesn't lock when I least expect it. For storage I use a rubber band to keep it closed.
Honest reviews on Rösle 12925 Fine Tongs
These are nice tongs and they seem to be well made, but I chose to buy them instead of a cheaper pair because these ones are "Designed and engineered in Germany". I took that to mean that they were made in Germany. These are in fact made in China. That shouldn't be too surprising, since almost everything is, but I think it's rather misleading for them to point out that they're "engineered in Germany" and not mention that they're made in China. So while these are nice tongs, there are cheaper alternatives which should work just as well.

These fine tongs are not only beautiful but well balanced. The quality is superb. Plating food is a breeze. I find I reach for these instead of regular tongs as these work so much better.
