I bought this set because I wanted a classic, beaded design and found this set to be comparable to a Williams Sonoma set (also 18/10) that was priced 3 times higher. I've now had this service for 12 for over 3 years and it still looks great. It complements my fine Wedgwood china as well as my everyday. The Continental sizing is a plus, and the weight and feel of the pieces are excellent.

I haven't experienced any of the pitting or rust problems others have, perhaps it has something to do with water quality or detergent?

The spoons and forks are heavy--great quality. The knives however, spot and rust immediately.

I have purchased four sets of this Continental Bead Stainless set. I have given sets to my children as wedding gifts, none better. Good quality stainless. The first I bought, from a warehouse store 15 years ago, was branded as by Cuisinart. I looked long years before I found the same set by Wallace, which had made the Cuisinart set. Reviews which take objection to the heavy weight and larger size of each piece are being unfair to the rating system and this set. The term Continental means oversized. You got exactly what you ordered. These are wonderfully full sized, and a good heavy weight, which I have not found anywhere else. They are thick, not thin and light. The salad fork is the same long tined pattern as the hefty dinner fork, not wide tined like other salad forks, and is preferred by my daughter for use as her dinner fork. The soup spoon holds soup in a large bowl. wallacesilversmiths.com shows this 65 piece set with a 25 year manufacturer's warranty, 40/18 stainless, and dishwasher safe. They show their 20 piece and 78 piece sets as "quality 40/0 stainless". Finally, any stainless knife will pit from electrolysis if left in a stainless sink under water touching another non-stainless knife, pot, or other inferior flatwear. The softer alloy in stainess steel is pulled out of the steel, and the steel rusts in the pit because it is no longer the stainless alloy. Newer dishwashers have grids to keep flatware from touching for that reason. The whole surface never rusts, only a smear around the pitted point of contact. Never mix metals under water. Ask any outboard motor owner. Buy this set. Thank me later.

Honest reviews on Wallace Continental Bead Stainless-Steel 65-Piece Boxed Flatware

I have owned this set four years now. I find knives in the yard and spoons in sand box and am missing several pieces. I have never seen any rust on any of my knives and they have been abused ( kids and grand kids ). The weight of the pieces are hefty and feel substantial in the hand. The length of the dinner forks are great ( longer than most ) and the knife blade is very wide. I did a special search to find this exact set again. My wife and I are 50 yrs old and we have been through a few sets of inferior flatware. These are quite the opposite.

The weight, balance and quality of this set is outstanding and what one would expect from wallace silversmith. If I were looking for a flaw it would be that the dinner fork and soup spoon are oversized.
