It works and is quiet. Boils water quickly. Having said that it is not the best kettle I have ever owned.Just not a quality product.The lid is ill fitting and leaks water when pouring. Filling the kettle is awkward because I have to hold the lid open, it will not stay open on it's own. The water level indicator is only on one side so if you are holding it in your left hand to fill you cannot see it.The heating elements are exposed.Just poorly thought out and designed
