Before I buy anything, I do a lot of research. I spent well over four hours online and talked to two very good amateur chefs/retired cooks who owned seven and twelve different brands of pepper grinders and both recommended an Atlas pepper mill. Well worth ~$100, grinds exceptionally fine and very fast! Its quite heavy as well. Wasn't really easy to fill (used a funnel) but it holds so much pepper and you need so little when it grinds this fine it doesn't matter. Every time I use it I grin ear-to-ear.
American soldiers supposedly used this pepper mill in WWII to grind coffee. I believe it!

This is a sturdy, keep for a lifetime, works perfectly kitchen and dining room pepper grinder that is both lovely to see and hold, as well as, doing its job. I've had many pepper mills over the years. Some worked very well, but none lasted. This one works better than any I have had before. This is a nice looking pepper mill and quite large, so it will do for the whole family, plus conpany.. Looks great sitting on the dining room table and now I'll have to find one for the salt! Atlas makes the best pepper mill just choose the size and you'll be happy. After almost 5 years I still think this is a great pepper mill and you'll be supporting the Greek economy and it needs all the help it can get
