I was going to buy this, during the gold-box deal, but went to another web site selling it for $140 not on sale and found it was made in China and that the bottom is aluminum.
After a few of the comments I received I went to All Clad and they told me if I was concerned about it being made in the USA then buy the D5 line, haven't looked at that yet as I was just looking at gold box this morning. They told me they monitor the products made in China if that makes any one feel better.

A very nice sized pot, good for steaming and cooking pasta without having to use a much larger pot (I've got their stock pot, but it is a monster). IT IS INDUCTION CAPABLE since a magnet will stick to the bottom (but not the sides).

This steamer is a real hit with my wife who loves steamed veggies.. Flawless design and finish is the hallmark of All Clad and this steamer is no exception.

Owning the D5 Set of pots and pans gives me an appreciation that this set isn't as well built so I took off a star given that the prices is still steep for the All Clad name. The set is I'm sure going to last me and performs well. I just don't see the quality I see in the other products I own from All Clad, but understand I could have shelled out more and got a D5 equivalent. I didn't. I'm displeased as well that this is not USA made. Foreign import and the workmanship shows it. However, it goes to the price I paid.

I cannot review the performance of this item because I returned it unused. The reason I returned it is that it is too big for my needs and my storage space. At this time, the dimensions on the product page are stated as 8.2 x 8.0 x 5.3. The only way I can get any measurement near 8" is by measuring the area on the bottom of the pot that touches the stove. The top rim of the pot is about 10.25" in diameter and measuring from handle-to-handle is about 13.5". From top to bottom with both inserts and the lid, the stack is about 10" tall if you store the lid inverted. It is a really nice set and the tongs are wonderful, too. If I had a large family and a bigger kitchen I am sure I would enjoy this. I am a fan of All-Clad, but this set is just not right for me.
