If you spend the time making good sushimeshi, and soak the press before each attempt, you will get excellent results. Once pressed I took the top off, quickly turned it upside down and slammed it down onto a cutting board. Every attempt was perfect. I used sashimi grade tuna, avocado, and rice. Absolutely wonderful. Definitely do some research if this is a new thing for you. It is an artform.

I really like owning this item, if only for its look. I love making sushi at home, and this item only adds to my arsenal. It does its job and makes nice looking rectangular pieces. Fairly easy to use once you get used to it. Difficult to clean (reason for only 4 stars). Have begun wrapping top part in plastic to make easier to clean, but bottom piece is a bit of a pain. As stated, I like owning this, but would rather it be plastic or other easy to clean material.

The problem with making sushi is when you cut it, it falls apart! even with a sharp knife... I recommend using seran wrap to keep everything nice fit anf clean. wash right after cause dry rice is a pain to deal with! this works great compared to a regular rolling mat. the slits in this thing make it cake work to cut! now you see there are only 4 slits, which makes big sushi bites and you might look like a chipmunk! now if you are a handy gal or have a handy man around, we cut more slits right in between each of the four already there and it is PERFECT! so deff do that! sushi at home is so much cheaper! nots as gorgeous, but fun to do!

It says mini "NIGIRI SUSHI" MOLD. WRONG! This is actually mini "RICE BALL" MOLD, not Nigiri Sushi Mold. The seller can't read Japanese and don't know about Japanese products.

Well i have order a different sushi press (XL 7 slots)and i got this one instead, i have use it and im not thrill about it, i wanted a bigger one and i got this 5 slot instead, it looks big but its tiny (TRUST ME IT'S TINY!!!) so i have to do double the work than my other box, so is it worth it? not really. I think it should be cheaper and if you order this item u'll get a smaller. They should send what you order, not what they want to send you or not just one that you have not order at all. Over all as a sushi box its cute but not to useful.
