If you must have a forged knife in the kitchen you cannot go wrong with this. I'm a big fan of ten inch chef's knives. Most women and a lot of men would be better served using stamped blades but if you must have forged and your wrists are strong enough this is a serious knife that will do serious work in the kitchen. The steel is easily the quality of the high end euro knives I've used at 1/3 to 1/2 the price. The fit and finish is superb and the knife comes with a great edge and is relatively easily resharpened. There are some other knives out there with a higher profile but they will not function better or often as well as this knife, or any other Mundial, will. This knife, because of its length, can also double very well as a slicer. Great knife and a maker of other great knives.

Just got mine and am I ever impressed. Gonna join the chorus here and say I pretty much love and adore this knife. Perfect feel in the hand, really well-made. A great tool at an astoundingly low price. Who would have thought this would come out of Brazil of all places... but there it is. Highly, vehemently recommended. Buy it with no regrets or reservations.

I received an Amazon.com gift certificate for Christmas. For the past 20 years my main kitchen knife was a 6" German forged blade. It has been wonderful, easy to maintain and sharpen, but it just wasn't enough knife. I did a lot of research and decided that, for the money, Mundial was the way to go. And so I used the gift certificate from Amazon. I have had this knife for about a month now and I use it every day. I have always used one knife for everything, slicing, dicing, paring, you name it, my Chef's knife did the work. And so it remains with my 10" Mundial. The knife arrived razor sharp and I have not had to do anything to it yet. I will, I love knives and own more than a few. Sharpening knives is one of my hobbies and I use another gift, two Japanese whet stones, plus steel from Razor Edge to sharpen my knives. I highly recommend this knife, and it will most likely wind up being given by me for several holiday gifts at the end of 2011.
