I already had a bigger version of this type of colander, and decided it would be good to have a smaller one, too. While I like the bowl of this colander, the handles are not nice and smooth and curved like the photo shows, they are more angular and the edges are a raw version of the steel and not polished/finished like the bowl, and definitely not shaped like the handles on the polished bowl as shown in the photo. If rinsing and 'shaking' this colander, the edges are 'rough/unsmooth' enough to hurt your hands/fingers they are more like a slightly angled rectangle coming of the sides of the colander than the nice curve and smooth appearance in the photo. I was disappointed in this colander in that respect, as my bigger colander, which cost less, has nicely curved, rolled, polished & smooth handles like this photo DOES show. The bigger colander is an unknown brand, purchased at a grocery store. The photo of this colander shows it with the type of smooth, less angular curve of the bigger colander I already have, not this smaller one I ordered. The photos should show EXACTLY what you are a getting, not a facsimile that is not true to ALL the elements of the item. I would not have purchased this item had it been truly shown as what I ended up receiving, as I know that type of handles would hurt my hands when using it.
