I received this pan today and used it to make gravy for dinner. It's the perfect size for making gravy, heating soup, cooking hot cereal for one or two, etc. Initially I was looking for a "butter warmer" and decided to check Anolon Advanced and came across this little pan. Perfect!!
I also own the Anolon Advanced: 3 qt. covered saucepan w/strainer lid; 2 qt. covered saucepan; 1.5 qt covered saucepan (have had these pans for a few months now). These pans are great and worth the money. Water/liquids come to a boil quickly and the pots heat evenly. They are heavy enough where they do not spin around on my glass top range.
I also like the fact that these pans are deeper than the standard saucepan so there is plenty of room if things begin to bubble up a little bit.
One other thing to note: The cover of the 1.5 qt saucepan fits perfectly on the 1 qt. open saucepan so I can use that lid for either of the 2 small pans! Perfect!!
I always hand wash these pans (no effort to cleaning these up) and I do not use metal cooking utensils in them. I don't put the lids in the dishwasher either but I guess one could do so if desired.
I would recommend these pans to my family and friends.
If you need new saucepans and are considering these, do not hesitate.

nice small pot that is good for warming up 1 can of product (i.e. baked beans, etc). love the whole anolon advanced pot/pan collection, and this is a nice addition that gets used quite a bit for heating up smaller items.Best Deals for Anolon Advanced Hard Anodized Nonstick 1-Quart Open Saucepan
Purchased in January 2012.The pan is only used to make oatmeal.Surface looks OK but food began to stick about 1 month ago (Sept. 2012).
Update My wife has oatmeal for breakfast almost every day. It is a pain to clean up. I got her this Anolon non-stick pan (Purchased January 28, 2012). It was used only to make oatmeal. It was only hand washed. After about 4 months it seemed to be less and less non-stick. Surface did and does look fine. I e-mailed Anolon and asked if there was some way to restore the non-stick surface. I thought that maybe cooking oatmeal (with milk) had somehow clogged up the surface. I was told to just send them the pan. I paid the shipping and sent the pan to them. The same pan came back. They said that the warranty was void because we had put it in the dishwasher and damaged the outside surface. Get that, the outside surface. 1) We did not put it in the dish washer. 2) We did not complain about the outside of the pan (which looks the same to me). Not buying any Anolon products ever again.
