This serverware is perfect for casual dining when serving fajitas, blackened scallops, or the like. It is casual in that the dish (not the insert) is plastic. The metal insert is safe for the oven or grill. I had two of these steak servers that I have had for 30+ years. I was disappointed when I received the two new ones I ordered. The metal is much thinner and lighter. They stain more quickly.
