Made of very thin stainless steel. It does look good. But the wistler does not work. It serves it's purpose, just wished it whistled. If that worked would give it one more star.

I was looking for a tea kettle that was affordable and red for my red kitchen, and when I came across this one I thought it was perfect. I liked the look of the stainless steel against the red. When it came and I opened the box I was amazed at how chic the kettle looked, I was very happy that I chose the stainless steel/red combo instead of a different completely red kettle. I followed the instructions for first time and continual uses, which I would recommend everyone should do. I used my old kettle to make tea almost every night. I used it immediately and it heated up quickly, whistled, and was everything I could expect in a nice kettle. The only reason this didn't get a fifth star is because sometimes it doesn't whistle so you have to guess when it's done.
