My wife and I love to cook. We have looked for a good cooking pot for months. Sometimes we cook in social occasions and we found most the pots' sizes smaller than what we need. The nice thing about this pot is that it is thick enough and made from cat Aluminum which allows for heat to expand evenly and relatively slowly that which helps in cooking most of recipes that does not have high percentage of water, i.e. other than stew dishes. We have used it to pasteurize milk before making several dairy products, it does not burn parts of the milk as when we use other pots.

The price was better than smaller pots from Wal-Mart. So I have a combination of functionality and price, which is exactly what my wife and I look for in every item we purchase. I may add that the pot is heavier than other pots, as it is made from cast Aluminum, though this is in my book what gave it the better heat distribution. Also I like the shiny looks it has.

I'd absolutely recommend it to a friend or family member.

I really like this pot. It is the 11.6 quart and I was able to brown 11 chicken breasts at the same time all lined up next to one another with room to spare! I would have given five stars, but the lid does not fit well. No matter which way you turn it, it doesn't quite fit and leaves a small gap. I was cooking chicken and rice, and the gap did not affect the way the rice cooked. In fact, I was very pleased with the even distribution of heat, and the rice cooked evenly all around. I did read other reviews of different size pots, and this lid problem was mentioned, so apparently it is a recurring problem. Even with the lid not fitting, I still like this pot very much, and will probably buy some in other sizes.

I have IMUSA Calderos from 2-cup up to Paella Pan and I think they are amazing.

I'm not sure what one reviewer's problem was with the lid and its ability to make rice, but with all due respect I've never found there to be any similar problem.

These work amazingly well at all temperatures on stove top. They may need a bit of scrubbing and the interior especially will more than likely always retain some discoloration, but I think that makes them look "lived in." After all, as my grandmother would caution, "never trust a skinny chef or a housewife with sparkling pots."

I find that at reasonable temperatures these also do just fine in the oven with the lid in place. The handle makes no claim to be heat-resistant, but I've been able to use these very successfully as dutch ovens with no melting, burning or distortion of the black plastic knob.

Highly recommended.

Great pot and cooks large amount of food evenly. When I went to a store to buy it, I noticed that some pots their came with a small gap between the cover and the edge of the pot and also some other customer reviews (of calderos bought online) noted this problem. But instead I bought mine on amazon which was much cheaper than that store, and the pot and cover I received luckily fit perfectly.

Also it was delivered within two days so I have nothing to complain about!!!

I order online this Imusa caldero when I got it the lid has damage doesn't fit and has bend they should to check the item first before they sent it to the costomer. So disappointed. I sent it back!
