I don't recommend using the candles provided. Buy tea lights with the metal cups that hold the candles. If you use the candles provided, there is not a metal cup to catch the wax so if there is any wax remaining, it is difficult to remove it. Then, when you put the next candle in, it won't fit in the holder correctly. Just a little tip for making these fantastic butter warmers even better!

These are super cute. They're pretty small basically personal size. Holds about 3/4 cup of liquid each. The crock holders don't look like much, but they serve their purpose the crocks didn't wobble or spill. I call these my lazy fondue I tried to melt cheese in it without much success, but it's great for keeping butter melted or sauces hot. The pot is so cute not your standard warmer. I put butter in it and slip it in the microwave for a few seconds and the warmer keeps it nice and hot, if your food cools it will warm it up in a flash. Had an immediate need for a holiday family seafood feast. Already had one pair. Needed 4 more. Very convenient especially with the handles that are touchable well into a prolonged meal. Butter melts in a matter of two minutes and stays soft for literally hours on a single candle. My niece ground up some fresh garlic and included in half of the warmers for optional additional flavor. Very easy to clean afterwards. Safe, attractive, classy. Don't have to worry about tarnishing that may occur with metal sets. And, even though we paid a bundle for the quick delivery, it was well worth it. Now we're set for all future family fun gatherings. I bought these for our annual Christmas-day lobster dinner party, and they were fantastic, but the base was a little too short. Once the butter is completely melted and hot, it begins to actually boil and bubble due to the direct flame. If the base was an inch taller it might warm it comfortably for a longer time, but we found we had to keep putting the candles out and relighting them. Have utility lighters on hand. The handles worked perfectly for our purposes though, as there were a lot of people sharing the butter and they could pour as much on as they liked and move on.
