We have had a first Bialetti Arte Deep Sauté pan for 5 years, but it was time to replace it. The teflon at the bottom had worn out and food stuck to it. The old one was "made in Italy" and I was hoping the company still had it made there, but it is very unlikely. The new pan has the same markings underneath except for that "made in Italy", so I can only assume that it was made in China. The pan does not come with the packaging like on the picture, so there is no information about coating, materials, care, where it was made, etc. While the old pan had teflon ("slippery" non-stick), this one seems to have ceramic non-stick, which is "rough" non-stick. Food will not stick so that's fine. I am glad we bought this pan instead of a more expensive Calphalon pan. The size is just right and the performance/price ratio cannot be beat.
