Disapointing becquse it looks nice. Unfortunately, the mesh is large and it will only protect from large bugs.

Smaller bugs easily pass through it. We were hoping to use it over fruit to protect from fruit flies, too.

It makes a better colander than a food protector.

Will keep big black flies off but the mesh is too course to keep fruit flies out. Nevertheless, keeping it.

These covers are good for keeping unwanted insects off your food when serving outdoors. The mesh keeps out most insects except fruit flies. They would be perfect if the mesh was alittle thghter weave pattern.

I am very disappointed with this product due to what you get for the high price. Yes, it appears to be well constructed and is "pretty;" however, it is only big enough to cover one normal-sized dinner plate, not a platter, which is what I wanted. I already have four exactly like this (just not as shiny) that I purchased from a dollar store. Yes, it is my fault for not paying closer attention to the size. I was evidentially fooled by the photo of the cover over what appeared to be large chunks of watermelon and thought it would be big enough to cover a platter. These are going back. I wish they would make a well-constructed dome like this for platters. All of the reviews I've read for the larger ones aren't good.
