I was very excited to get my jar sized scraper as I typically love the high quality from LeCrueset. However after only using a few times there are a couple issues with this scraper. This rubber scraper part detaches from the wooden handle which is great for cleaning but this seems to detach a little too easy so if you are using to scrape thicker consistency foods like honey or PB it will pull right off. The most alarming issue I have is that today I noticed the rubber is peeling and crumbling and most likely has ended up in my food at some point.

I'm disappointed and returning this product.

I bought this Le Creuset jar scraper on a whim, after having seen it praised in an Amazon Daily blog post. The jar scrapers I have been using have soft blades that are not heat-safe. This Le Creuset scraper is not only good for high heat, the blade is stiff enough to not deform when scraping out peanut butter and the handle is very comfortable to hold.

My wife, who was skeptical at first, was so taken with the scraper that she asked me to order the Medium Spatula from the same series. I thought I was getting this from Amazon when I bought Le Creuset BB0733-30 Amazon.com Exclusive 3-Piece Silicone Spatula Set, Cobalt Blue, but that was an older line without the nice blade or handle design so back it went. At the time I write this, Amazon doesn't list the spatulas in this new "Evolution" line, so I had to buy from Chef's Catalog directly. But today I just discovered that Amazon has added the Evolution spatula: Le Creuset Medium Silicone Spatula

Another odd thing is that the blade is claimed to be dishwasher-safe, but the wooden handle isn't. I guess they expect you to pull the blade off the handle if you are going to do that, but there are no instructions for doing so and I'd worry about it coming loose. I intend to hand-wash it anyway so that doesn't matter to me.
