It seems like a design flaw but the water will boil out of the pot between the walls of the pot and this colander. You can't boil items with this in the pot without making a large mess. The best way to use it is pour items into the colander to drain after you are done cooking them.I plan to use this basket to steam vegetables and have not used it yet. It is for my Magma pans in our RV. It appears to be of very good quality.
