While still of the same functionality the thickness of the aluminum is a mere fraction of days of old. I imagine the inserts are thin enough to warp in high heat, so be careful.

ALSO--don't put these in your dishwasher. Darned new detergents turn them black!!!

Not bad but doesn't keep food hot for as long as I would like. Does make an attractive presentation. Just fair overall.

I just received 4 of these in the mail today, I was worried about how thick the metal insert would be. They are as thick as i wanted, perfect, exactly what I was looking for. I was at a steak house the other day and these are close to what they use, these have a cool design, the plastic part doesnt weigh as much as a steak house plate but who cares? I would have to try very hard to bend the metal insert. The metal is what is important and I'm glad they were the quality I was looking for!

The quality is not what was expected, lighter weight than earlier versions of the same thing. Scratches easily. And can't be put in dishwasher!
