This pretty, roomy and well made casserole is about 1/2 the price of Le Crueset and is a really great value. I love mine. I also serve hearty fall and winter soups in it and it can go in the oven, etc., like all cast iron. It's heavy too, but that's a price you pay for having the best cookware in the universe (enameled cast iron). It has all the great properties of cast iron without the drawbacks (does't rust, is non-reactive, etc) Anyway, this is exactly as good as Le Crueset but at 1/2 the price!

I received this beautiful product and was very impressed with the design, color, feel and quality right out of the box. I made the most amazing risotto in it and the results were the best I've ever had. The only downer was that upon it's very first hand washing after use I noticed a couple of tiny chips in the enamel. This of course will not affect the performance (they were on the outside, bottom) bu makes it slightly less desirable to use all the time if you hope to use it for a decorative itme on your tabletop. I would absolutely recommend this dutch oven. Not to mention that you will not find a better price. Trust me, I looked for this for years before I found a price I thought was reasonable.
