Nice pan but I find the handle a little on the thin side...ie for gripping. I have an average sized male hand.
Got the Friday sale price of $7.
I've got pans coming out of the wazoo. People make fun of me and all my pans. Guess you could call me a Pan Handler :)

Best Deals for Farberware Classic Stainless Steel 1-1/2-Quart Open Sauce Pan
We have other stainless steel Farberware pots and pans and were in need of a new 1 1/2 quart (which any 1 1/2 quart is practically to impossible to find). Being it was listed as a Classic Farberware product we figured it would be like our other older ones, which are 100% stainless. Much to our dismay, this Farberware Classic was anything but. It was Stainless plated and not true stainless steel. You can test stainless with a magnet, as it will not stick to stainless steel. We should have been skeptical because of the low price but we took the chance. The pot was pretty heavy duty just the same, and for the price I guess it was worth the cost. Therefore we did not return it, but do not expect it to outlast and hold up as real stainless steel would. All in all, we are happy to have another 1 1/2 quart pot. As we stated, it is heavy weight and will do the trick, but we will continue to search for the real deal and one that is not tapered at the bottom, (longer to heat as the bottom surface is not dimensional to the rim. Like everything now days, you get what you pay for, and maybe the cost of making a 100% stainless pot is too high for the manufacture to make large enough profit. However they should have stated that it was plated in the description. Now you know!Honest reviews on Farberware Classic Stainless Steel 1-1/2-Quart Open Sauce Pan
I bought this pan trusting good reviews, however I am very disappointed.Pros:
pan is really cheap
you can boil an egg in this pan (the clean up would be easy after that one. Maybe)
Cons:
rounded bottom edges should be perfect for whisking sauces and custards, but it seems that only the bottom has an aluminium core, so the sides are not heated through. As a result your sauce will not be heated evenly. I contacted producer to check this, they did mot respond.
it is impossible to clean. Neither dishwasher nor bar keepers friend could remove the stains the pan seems to create out of any substance which gets into it (milk, soup for reheating, pretty much anything else, than again see pros). I have other stainless steel pots, sadly those are expensive, they clean up just fine.
material is thin and flimsy
plastic handle warms up and smells like, well burnt plastic, even when I use medium heat.
Overall, even considering the price, I regret this purchase.
