The handles of my previous enamel colander had broken so I bought this one to replace it. This one looks great and the handles seem very sturdy. The enamel finish is smooth, glossy, and durable. It's so pretty I almost hate using it for what it's designed for. If it's not being used I use it as a fruit bowl on my kitchen counter. I love this larger 5 Qt. colander much better than my smaller standard sized one. This one holds a lot more. :)
