This pressure cooker appears to be very well made, and has a highly polished chrome finish. I have two other pressure cookers, 6QT and 8QT, and I must say this 4QT comes to pressure very quickly, in just a few minutes. The pan is about 3" deep, and the lid adds about another inch to the height. Three chicken leg quarters, cut into thighs and drum sticks fits into it easily, but I could have put fourth in with no trouble at all. Unlike the 6&8 quart which have a pressurized safety locking pin on the lids, this one does not. And unlike the 6&8 quart models this one is a whole easier to clean up, which means I will probably be using the 4QT all the time. I like it alot and would recommend it to anyone.

Its so hard to close the lid. I have to hit it 4-5-6 times then it fits and starts making pressure. I wish Hawkins has these kind of pressure pans Love Hawkings pressure cookers. I have 5 litre Prestige pressrue cooker before (Not pressure pan) but that does not give that much trouble to close. Unless the manufacturer uses different standards for measuring volume, this pan is not 4 liters. We returned the product when we noticed that it is too small for our needs. I have become so involved with learning Indian cooking I had to have a Prestige Pressure Pan. Most recipes do not give times cooked but number of whistles. Now I have a whistling pan.
