I just purchased the silicone brand and I'm in love with them. They stay clean and are maintenance free. The snap less design is ingenious and easy. They prevent burns but still get hot so you have to exercise some caution and use common sense. The silicone oven guards are much prettier then the cloth brand but they only work up to 450 degree temperatures (so they are not quite as heat resistant). They probably would not be suited for a toaster oven and I would be afraid they would melt. I recommend the silicone for the oven and the cloth brand for a smaller toaster oven. What ever style you choose, don't forget to remove your oven protectors when you set the temp. to "self clean"

Great idea but needs work: maximum exposure is 450-degrees, unlike most silicone oven products that are rated to 600-degrees; therefore, you MUST remove before broiling. Every time.Best Deals for Silicone Oven Rack Guards, Set of 2 by WalterDrake
as another reviewer said, these do get hot, just not as hot as the metal. If you're ok with that, go for it.They are a little bit of work to put on and take off, depending on the size of the rack, and I'm afraid that if I do it too fast they will eventually rip.
Also, pay attention to the dimensions. I have a narrow oven and these still leave a large area of the rack uncovered.
OK overall, nothing amazing.

These failed around 400F. They charred, smoked, smelled like burning chemicals, and discolored when I tried to bake at 400F in my gas oven. They are NOT safe to the rated 450F.They are great at 350F. Short chunks of them also work well on handle style metal pot lids.

I have a Thermador 36" oven. They just do not fit and/or stay on the racks.I got them on, with great effort because the diameter of my racks is pretty large, I guess. But as soon as I touched them in the hot oven, they were in my hand (oven mitt).
They now have a place on my counter.
