The Faberware High Performance 12 piece Stainless Steel Cookware Set is an attractive set of cookware. The 12 pieces don't give you much flexibility in terms of quantity cooked, the largest pan being only 5 quarts. However, this makes this an excellent set of cookware for a single person or a couple. This set would be an outstanding set of pots and pans for someone just starting a home or who may be downsizing to a smaller kitchen.
The highlight for me is the 2 quart strainer pan which allows you to drain off water without removing the lid of the pan. We found this to be excellent for making small quantities of pasta, one or two servings. With this pan you will not need to dirty additional dishes just to drain off liquid from whatever you are cooking. The pan is much thinner than the other pans so it cools down quickly which keeps your food from burning on the bottom of the pan after you drain the liquid. This single pan has become a regular part of our meal planning and has allowed us to add delicious things like multi-grain pasta to lunches and other meals when smaller servings are desired. I love this pan. As I noted in the video, due to the thinner metal on this pan you will want to be a little more careful and not want to bang it around too much as it could dent far more easily than the other thicker metal pans.
I also liked the glass lids, especially on the 11 inch skillet. This has become another much used tool and you will be amazed at what accumulates on the inside of the lid when you are browning meat or cooking sausage or bacon. I have not had a problem with the non-stick surface of the pan which does what it is supposed to do extremely well. I am not one who is afraid of using non-stick surfaces but often alternate between them and cast iron, more for cooking style than any kind of concern about a non-stick coating. I would much rather cook an egg, especially an omelet, in a non-stick pan than a cast iron one (actually I wouldn't even try an omelet in cast iron). I have used the high temperature plastic spatula, spoon and slotted spoon which were provided with the set and washed the non-stick skillets carefully and after 25 or so uses they could be put back in the box and sold as new. How you take care of your cookware determines how long it will last. Don't use metal tools on non-stick surfaces.
The package claims the cookware can withstand up to 350 degrees in an oven. I have not tested this extreme temperature, but I did use the oven set at 200 degrees to keep things warm in the skillet and it had no effect on the cookware. If I was going to be using higher temperatures in the oven with my skillets I would use my cast iron skillets anyway.
I have really enjoyed adding this set of cookware to my kitchen and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a basic but versatile and attractive set of cookware.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program This Farberware cookware set includes 3 different types/sizes of stainless steel pots with glass covers as well as 2 non-stick aluminum skillets and a few lightweight non-metal utensils. The items are designed for smooth, safe handling (the pot and cover handles have non-metallic surfaces which reduces the likelihood of accidentally burning yourself touching the handles). These items are solidly constructed and Farberware is known for good quality kitchenware. The main drawback in this set is the inclusion of the non-stick aluminum coated skillets, which really don't belong in a set titled "stainless steel." Since there is concern about health hazards from aluminum and chemicals used to create non-stick coatings, it would be best to have an all stainless steel set for those that are conscious about this subject and how cookware could contaminate food. Labeling this set as stainless steel is misleading since the skillets are made with other materials. This would be a fine set if you don't mind the aluminum & non-stick materials, yet I prefer all stainless steel and it would make sense to me to have sets with all the items using the same type of construction those who prefer plain stainless steel can purchase that and those who prefer non-stick pots can get sets containing solely that. Thus, I like part of this set and am impressed with the quality of the design, but feel that Farberware could have made this a truly all stainless steel set, not just one called stainless steel.Best Deals for Farberware High Performance Stainless Steel 12-Piece Cookware Set
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program I love love this 12-piece set of "Faberware High Performance Stainless Steel Cookware". Here are some of the pluses about this particular set:The set itself looks much more expensive than it is, the pots and pans are extremely well made, look beautiful and are not too too heavy when lifting full pots of hot liquids. The glass lids are attractive and fit nice and snug, and I love that they have side vents on the larger ones so that when item starts to boil theres no spilling over on the stovetop. Another plus is the fact that the handles do not get hot, so no danger or burning your hands when removing pot or pan from the hot stove. I also love the teflon coating on the fry pans which make clean up a breeze. Finally an added bonus was a 3-piece kitchen tool set which is very nice as well.
These would make a great shower gift for a bride to be or someone setting up a new home and not wanting to spend a fortune on cookware. Very very nice!

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program This cookware set is typical of "department store" every-day quality pots and pans. By that, I mean that they are not comparable to All-Clad or LeCreuset, but they are sufficient for the task and will perform well with regular use. They clean up easily and maintain a shiny finish. The pots are a good medium weight, so not heavy when filled with food. The glass lids fit snugly and don't rattle when simmering on the stove. I appreciate the comfort handles that are oven safe to 350 degrees, and don't get hot when on the stovetop. I am not a fan of teflon coating, but for some tasks such as scrambling eggs, these skillets are great and clean up is easy.
The set includes three nylon tools for use with the teflon coated pieces. They are also sturdy and I expect them to hold up well. I have washed all pieces in the dishwasher and they came out beautifully. A very nice set of cookware for not a lot of money.

Customer review from the Amazon Vine Program If you are looking to upgrade your aluminum cookware or just in the market for a new mid-level set (meaning not professional or heavy duty, but better than the lightweight flimsy stuff readily available at your local big box store), this may be the perfect set for you.The cookware itself is made of stainless steel and has a nice heft without feeling tremendously heavy. It feels durable, but isn't so heavy that carrying a full saucepan of boiling water across the kitchen becomes a seriously dangerous activity. Some heavier duty sets are just *too* heavy, at least for me. I like the feel of these pots and pans very much.
The lids are a heavy duty glass, so you can cover your cooking and still keep an eye on it, which is a super nice feature.
There are two things that this set lackssturdy, heat-proof handles (I'm a little wary of the thin plastic covered handles of this setI'm not sure if they will conduct heat if you are cooking for a long time), and a mid-size saucepan. The saucepan that is included is perfect for single size servings, but not enough to cook a box of couscous or a family-sized serving of pasta/rice/sauce, etc. There is a larger pot included, but it's not one with a single handle, it's a lower, wide pot with the two grips on each size (I'm sure there's a formal name for it but I am forgetting it at the moment). When you are trying to juggle a couple of things in the kitchen. I always find single-handled saucepans, even big ones, much easier to handle than the wider, flatter pots.
All in all, this is a great set. If you're just boiling water or making mac and cheese, you won't need a set like this unless you want it. If you are a super gourmet or very interested in cooking, indulge in something a little more higher grade. But if you are looking for something to make your meal prep a little more fun or just want to upgrade your pots and pans, this is a great set!
