I like chopstocks, and I use them whenever I can, but the one thing I can never seem to get right are noodles, especially the "instant lunch" type in the form cups.
That's where these come in.
I originally bought a set of Holdstix at one of the local grocery stores, and they worked quite well, but the quality wasn't as high as they could have been, and each pair eventually broke after about three months of use.
That's when I discovered this item.
The M-shaped (or W-shaped, depending on your point of view) hinge puts less stress on the joints, so the probability of breakage is far less than in those with a simple U-shaped hinge. Also, these are longer, giving more control and pressure at the tip, allowing for better holding of whatever it is you're picking up. They're also made of a slightly harder plastic, so they should wear much slower. The interior of the tips have a grip pattern molded in, so your noodles (or whatever else you pick up) won't slide out.
Yes, you will be paying a bit more per unit, but it's worth it!
Will these teach you how to eat with chopsticks? No. Only practice will do that. But if you need something to augment regular chopsticks or have the convenience without the frustration, these are definitely the way to go.
