This Dutch oven is a heavy weight, 7 ply vessel, with a 18/10 steel interior, silvinox finish and brushed steel exterior, much like the aluminium kadhais that my mother gave to me 15 years ago. It is simple in its design with no rivets inside the vessel, the handles have been welded solid. The lid sits well trapping heat inside and helps cook with little to no oil and water. Use it in the oven or on Induction top, no problem. No, the handles don't remain cool if you are cooking liquids. Cooking in it is still a delight, because it cooks and cleans up so well. Honestly, I don't miss the kadhais anymore. I had been looking for something similar to All-clad to replace the toxic aluminium and I read a lot of positive reviews about demeyere and all-clad but this came to me with an Amazon gift card that paid 50% off which I could not pass compared to an exorbitant All-clad deal. My choice between All-clad and Demeyere was also based on the fact that Demeyere is made by a family owned business somewhere in Belgium, has been around for a long time and does not advertise, sponsor or get touted by every food network chef!

Best Deals for Demeyere Atlantis 5.1 Quart Dutch Oven with Lid
I own a few pieces of Demeyere cookware including this Atlantis Dutch Oven, the Proline 12.6" fry pan, and the Maxigrill. I wished I owned more of it as Demeyere cookware simply the best cookware available bar none. Life would be a lot more pleasant if one could go through it with a complete set of Demeyere cookware.
