I bought this pitcher because I wanted to make sangria for a party I was having. It is large enough to make a big batch. It is pretty enough to use as a decorative peice so I don't have to store it. It's not too heavy when it is filled but I would advise using two hands when pouring.

It is a beautiful pitcher...but.

The first one I bought for my wife eventually cracked right at the juncture of the bottom part of the handle and the body. So I bought her another and it eventually (within a year), cracked at the exact same place.

In both cases you might be able to try and use it but we do not just in case it fractures. So it has become a window decoration, since it is beautiful, especially with light streaming through it. But worthless as a pitcher.

There is an obvious metaphor in there somewhere.

Whoever designed this must be completely unfamiliar with how liquids get from one container to the next. The spot is far too wide and shallow to allow you to pour it efficiently. The base design flares out so far that you have to tilt the neck waaaaay over and then it all comes gushing out of this ridiculous spout. You have a choice: You can either it pour it slowly (it will take a full minute to pour 20 oz) or you can pour it quickly...all over your counter.

Just an absolutely ridiculous design. It looks nice...but it's about as efficient as a screen door on a submarine.
