Idli batter. Molds. Pot. Water. It seems simple ... And with this mold it got pretty close. Cleaning was not bad and the idlis looked good. If it displayed some better craftsmanship, I could give it 5 stars. Some of the holes were off center and there are lots of sharp edges. The shaft that holds it together will come apart easily... Make sure you don't leave a metal nut in an idli.

It's a simple & classic idli plate set, and it certainly does its job. It also seems sturdy enough, but I don't have enough experience to be sure. I did find it too big for my cooker, but it's not the fault of the product. I managed to use it in a 7.5L cooker I borrowed from a friend. we immediately recycled our old idli rack. So MUCH BETTER and easier to clean! We like that they fit properly, stack nicely and the steal is easy to clean. Not the best Idli rack and yes, this stand is for mini Idlis... looks very flimsy... so please be aware... I would have a given this item a five star if it was clear under product description that it's for mini idlis. I am keeping it because it's not worth sending back and paying shipping.
