I'm on a crusade against Teflon (as much as one can be lol) and love the look and the durability of stainless steel cookware. However, for some inexplicable reason, most stainless steel cookware has handles that are also stainless steel, so the handles heat up along with the pan. Seeing how this is a huge inconvenience for anyone who actually wants to use stainless steel pans, when I saw this set, with silicone rubber around the handles, I knew I needed them. (Also, I'd been using my grandmother's Farberware pots and the handles started becoming loose, and they DON'T make Farberware like they used to lol.) $199 is a lot, granted, but you get a lot in this set, and the glass covers and the cookware is of extremely high quality. The pots and pants heat up quick and evenly, and they're heavy, extremely durable, and dishwasher safe. Calphalon for the win.

Sigh... What wonderful pots. They conduct heat fantastically, look smashing, and are just a joy to use.Cleaning-
Initially, after cooking a few meals I became quite distraught at the staining and phantom residue that the pans were retaining. Scrubbing with a scouring pad didn't work and soaking proved fruitless. Inside of two weeks the pots looked "used."

Who would have thought that it's best to follow the manufacturers recommendations. ;)
Best Deals for Simply Calphalon Stainless 10 Piece Set
I was given the Calphalon Wok a couples years back and was amazed with quality and even heat distribution especially on my apartment's cheap electric range.I have had the same cheap Walmart bought Teflon pots and pans since moving out on my own almost a decade ago and they were all bent, cheap and flaking. I ordered these after much research and after being warned about the health risks of Teflon.
From just lifting the box, I could tell these were much higher grade pots and pans than I had ever owned before. Each pan feels and looks like it was built to last a lifetime. I know these are not even the top of the line Calphalon, but unless you're running a professional kitchen out of you house I can't see what these can't accomplish.
After cooking on non-sick for so long, I forgot how much better food tastes with a real sear on it. Just make sure you buy the bartender;s friend to keep the shine on them after cooking at high heat. I am confident I can pass these on to my daughter when she moves out in about a decade and they will still be solid and reliable. Maybe then I'll see what the higher level of Calphalon are about, but until then I'm just thrilled. Even the shipping was flawless.I was given a 5 day delivery window June 3-8. They arrived on the 3rd!

I love these pots! They look great and cook great. They are easy to clean and overall fantastic. Also, the price for a Calphalon set is pretty fantastic as well. This 10-piece set has all of the pieces that you would really use regularly. We did buy the 12" pan as well and a roasting pan, but you could probably get by without those. I've only had these for a week, but I can already tell they are the best set of pans I've ever owned.None of that craptacular non-stick, anodized, overpriced junk that falls off into your food. Just solid stainless steel that even the most burned and baked on food washes off with a light soaking.
Can't believe I didn't figure this out sooner.
O Yea, SILICONE HANDLES (not even found on the higher end model).
