Review of Camp Chef Steel Griddle
I use this on the wood stove in my wall tent. works great and is the perfect size. handle works great for moving it a roundi hate cast iron because of the care and attention that it requires. if you spend extended periods camping and leave your cooking rig set up outside, this steel griddle is low maintenance and a super performer. i use this griddle on my 2 burner camp chef. just scrape it off after each use and your ready to go for the next meal. i also learned that you can season the steel in the same way you would cast iron. just coat the griddle with crisco and bake in the oven for 1 hour at 500 degrees; leave the griddle in the oven after you shut it off so it can cool gradually. the griddle will come out with a golden glaze on it that is hard as glass, prevents rusting and is non-stick. it's kinda like those burnt brown spots you get on cookie sheets or pots that you cant seem to scrub off. well in this case, that's the point!
