I have both the salt and pepper mills. They are excellent purchases, though pricey. I've had both of my mills for some time now, and they do not wear out.

In all seriousness though...I've worked in restaurants for over a decade and our pepper grinders don't grind as fast or put out as much pepper. I've never used a pepper grinder that has, and it makes me very happy because I'm a food nerd like that and like kitchen gadgets that are very effective and do their job well. The color is great, as is the finish, though when mine arrived it had a little ding in the top where something had obviously impacted it, and the wood used is soft, so it cracked the finish and made a depression in it. I decided it wasn't worth sending it back, but mine did come in a condition that I would not consider new.

Well made, and I would buy again. I would also have trouble going back to a pepper grinder that's not as good as these.
