I use it with lodge cast iron griddle 9 inch and 10.5 inchI like this one because it fits loose because I need it only to remind me that the handle is hot. I remove it after each use once the griddle cools down.
If you leave it on and not remove the handle may rust.
Works for me.

The silicone handle holders are heat-resistant and a great addition to any kitchen. Just slide the holder onto the hot handle and remove pots and pans with ease. The silicone handle grip is almost 6-Inches long and most cast iron skillets have a handle that is shorter. So, it is imperative to get the handle well into the handle holder. The special silicone offers protection up to 450-Degree. Creates a safe and comfortable grip of hot cookware handles. The handle holder is made wider to slide onto the handle with easy, if it was too snug you wouldn't be able to secure it. This handle holder is flexible enough to store compactly in a drawer. Available in a rainbow of different colors and is dishwasher-safe. For me, the orange and lime green were the best choices because I can find them in the drawer much easier. One thing that I found interesting is that the silicone handle holder is a little bit longer than the skillet handle itself and the inside of the silicone handle holder is ribbed to grip the handle. Upon using this handle holder you have to push it all the way onto the skillet handle itself and you have to have a good hand grip strength, otherwise you can lose the control of the skillet. All the way means just that, push the silicone handle holder till it touches the skillet itself.
This wasn't a problem for me, but I can envision where someone with a weak wrist would have a problem with the weight. Combining the skillet weight and add the weight of the food there could be a problem. Now, this is where you have to be creative. You may need a set of gloves made for oven use or some good potholders. This will depend upon your hand strength.
Use the silicone handle holder for control and remove the food from the skillet into a serving dish or if you are going to serve from the skillet you need a good trivet that will withstand both the heat and the weight. The handle holder avoids the problem of forgetting the cast iron pan handle is hot and burning yourself. You can leave it on while using it on the stovetop. This silicone holder has several advantages over a cloth handle holder or potholder: You can leave this on a gas burner when using the pan without a problem, you can't do this with a cloth because of fire concerns. The silicone material can get wet without losing its insulating qualities. If it gets oily it can easily be washed and reused much quicker than cloth. It can be put in a dishwasher without regard to warping or melting just place it in the silverware holder.

I use my cast iron skillets for frying chicken and fish. They do well for frying potatoes as well and for stir fry vegetables. When making corn bread I use either the smaller skillets or use the corn bread stick pan. The stick pan makes wonderful sized corn bread sticks that can be placed in a basket and served with soup.
Pancakes, eggs, and bacon somehow taste extra hearty when cooked in a heavy cast-iron skillet. Cast iron creates superior heat retention, heats evenly, and loves a campfire, unlike flimsier pans. Fry up a mess of catfish, roast a chicken, or bake an apple crisp in this generous 12-inch pan that features two handles for heavy lifting, and two subtle side lips for pouring. While the skillet comes pre-seasoned to prevent food from sticking, it works best when sprayed or lightly coated with vegetable oil before use. Whether used in a kitchen or camp, this virtually indestructible pan should last for generations.
The Lodge Cast Iron Skillet is a multi-functional cookware that works wonders with slow-cooking recipes. This pre-seasoned Skillet works like a charm right out of the box. Made of cast iron, this Skillet evenly distributes heat from the bottom through the sidewalls. Also, it retains heat better so your delicious meal remains warm for a long time. Sporting a stylish black color, the cast iron Skillet looks good in most kitchens and it doubles up as an excellent source of nutritional iron.
A simple Cast-Iron skillet, like the one your grandmother used, still ranks as one of the best cooking utensils ever made. It gives you a nearly non-stick surface, without the possible harmful fumes generated by preheating chemically treated nonstick cookware.
Many of the pieces of cast iron cookware made in the Lodge Foundry over a century ago remain in use today. The right tool for searing, sautéing, simmering, braising, baking, roasting, and frying. You can cook just about anything with this size skillet.

Indispensable to the country cook is the cast iron skillet. Seasoned over time, many handed down from one generation to another, cast iron cookware has been this country's favorite cookware for over one hundred years. Nothing cooks better than cast iron.
Lodge makes great quality cast iron. Not only does cast iron cook the best ... it has steady heat properties that make it a staple in the kitchens of those that love to cook. As a ten-year-old, I was in charge of making the corn bread. My grandmother was a wonderful teacher. She taught me many things among them was to feed myself, well, when I was on my own. We either used a cast-iron skillet or a cornstick pan. The cornsticks were my favorite... especially for soup. Fresh vegetable comes to mind. Now, that I have a granddaughter that loves to cook ... this pan brings back wonderful memories. LODGE LOGIC SEASONED CAST IRON COOKWARE is the best that is on the market. Do NOT buy a China knock-off. Get the real thing for about the same price.
Don't be fooled by cheap Chinese imitations -
If it's not Lodge, it's not made in America.
These silicone handle holders work very well for me and they are a very good addition to have when you need them.
