This was definitely a waste of money. I purchased two steamers, one for me, and one for a friend. On both of our units, parts of the cover actually broke off on the first useage. We tossed both of them in the trash.

Even if the unit was better constructed, it's a bad design. The vented holder that sits inside the main unit needs to have some little legs so the holder will rest above the water during the steaming processing.

I've had mine for a while and I've not had any problems with it breaking.

It's simple you use and clean. It steams vegetables perfectly. Asparagus, broccoli, peppers and more all come out great and quick from the microwave.

Be careful when taking veggies out. The hot steam can burn your fingers if you aren't careful!

So glad to have this. We had an older version but the tabs broke off the basket (after many years of use) and it was difficult to use. So much easier, now, using the microwave to steam our veggies.
