The only doubt I have is how durable the silicone coating is. When I opended the package, some coating on top of the rim already got scratched off. Now it's completely scratched off by the lid.

I purchased this pan for my wife. She has several other NorticWare Restaurant pans, from their smallest to largest frying pans. Excelent quality, non-stick coating on thick aluminium insures even heat distribution and easy cleanup. My only complaint on this pot is in reguards to the all metal lid handle. Bought the complete set a couple of years ago and have just loved them. They are a good weight and heat very evenly. The non-stick coating has held up very well, not easily scratched and no chipping or pealing.
