I liked the design of this.....the elevation to keep the turner off of the countertop, so ordered. I absolutely love it! It is comfortable to the hand, and is quite sturdy. It is not a flimsy turner. I just ordered another of the Joseph Joseph Elevate products, and hope that I like it as much as I like this turner. I have trouble finding kitchen utensils that I really like but, this is a winner.
Update on 10-2011: Not as crazy about this. Have been meaning to update this review for a while. If there is any food on the black spatula, the elevation does not work because, like a teeter tooter, the spatula part will be the one to tip down onto the surface. And, the black part has melted a bit. I am not sure when this happened, but I don't use this a lot, and rarely leave it in a heated pan for more than a few seconds.
Would not buy another Joseph Joseph Elevate product. It is sturdy, which I really like, but just not sold on the design after using it for a while.

Pros:
------------
1) Great design with the little stand at the bottom for resting the item on the table.
2) Very good construction and build. The front edges and smooth and flat and making flips of food items very easy.
Cons:
------------
1) The charcoal/dark part is made with the hard heat-resistant material. Unfortunately the green handle is made with a soft and much less heat-resistant material. Because the handle neck is very short, you will easily place the turner in the pan and have the handle rest against the edge of the pan and thus "melting" the handle which is exactly what happened to me.
2) The neck between the turner and handle is too short. It would be best if the entire thing is extended 2-3 inches.
Overall:
--------
Good if you use it on a small pan. Do not recommend it for large or deep pans as it is too short. They need to change the handle material to be same as the turner head itself.

Love this spatula, it rests at an angle on the counter when not in use so it doesn't get oil or other food all over the place. Very durable, sturdy, and a great idea!
Honest reviews on Joseph Joseph Elevate Slotted Turner
This is such a clever design. And such an obvious solution to messy countertops. Why didn't someone think of it sooner? We bought everything they make in the elevate style and threw out everything else. Now we have the perfect tools, a clean countertop and a de-cluttered drawer.

I bought this to round out the Joseph Joseph utensil set. This is a large turner that works well for things like pancakes, tortillas, quesadillas, toasted sandwiches, chow mein, Pad Thai etc. As with the rest of the set, because it isn't silicone, food does stick a bit. Soaking in water solves this minor issue and I really like the set. I love the way the utensils don't get your counter dirty (or don't touch an already dirty counter). This turner is a bit too large for making eggs in a small pan it's better suited for a griddle, large frying pan or a wok. It's really large, not extra large, in my experience.
