I just received this product and it is beautiful. I was disappointed that I ordered a 1 inch thick piece of marble and received a 1/2 inch thick piece of marble with 1/2 inch rubber feet on it. My intended use is to temper chocolate with this and both the feet and the thinness of this piece of marble make it a lot less useful for this purpose. If I had known I would have went elsewhere for what I wanted.

I ordered this to use on an outdoor grilling table--put hot things on it so as to not damage wood, etc. It is as represented except, as someone else noticed, it is 1/2 inch thick, not 1 inch thick. Packaging now is a manufacturer box lined with styrofoam, then inside amazon box lined with inflatable bag packaging. No complaints on packaging, seems very adequate and no damage due to shipping.

Shipping time and product are great, item was cracked along a natural fault when it got here. I ended up repairing it with gorilla glue and it has been used for about 3 weeks now. Size is perfect for making stuffed bread and pinwheels. Very easy to clean but a little heavy for some people to lift out of undercabinet storage. We just keep it upright on the counter beside the toaster oven.

The dimension is off, it's only 0.5 inches thick, not 1". The stone is carrara marble, greyer than the picture on the Web site. The board came with the corner chipped and with fine-line cracks where 2 out the 4 rubber-feet are. The stone is fitted in Styrofoam made for it and inside a product box, the box is then put inside a shipping box with some packing material. From the fine-line cracks at the rubber feet, I wonder if that's due to stacking these boxes together and the weight of all the boxes caused the cracks. As to the chip in the corner, there are so many ways this could have happened. It's a hard item to package and ship well. I see that the price went up again by about 18% in just a few days, probably due to all the returns from stone damage. I debated for a refund or exchange, I ended up getting one custom made from a local stone fabricator and returned the cracked one for a refund.

I've ordered the product expecting to receive a thinner marble piece based on other reviews, but I was surprised to see how heavy and nice it was. Mine looks pretty similar to the photo and I think it looks even more beautiful. When I measured the board, the board itself is actually a little over 1/2" thick, more like 9/16". With its rubber feet, the total height of it on my counter is 15/16" and it's more than thick enough to serve as a partial waterproof counter sitting on my wood buffet. Mine did come with a few small scratches on the surface but they're unnoticeable amongst the marble pattern. This is a great product for the price, and I'm thrilled with the purchase.
