Maybe they're making paper towel rolls wider or something but we just had two brand new wall mount paper towel holders break because they were the kind that you press the roll in and the two arms just hold each end of the roll. The second one we bought was stainless steel because we thought the problem was the plastic, but that one was so tight compared to the roll that it smashed one end of the cardboard tube every time you tried to put it in unless you spent five minutes wrestling with it, then its so tight you cant get it to roll. It was so annoying that I just wanted a simple wooden dowel towel holder and that's what I got. We haven't put it up yet, but we put a roll in there and it fits and rolls. Who knew a paper towel holder could be a purchase a person would have to carefully consider! This arrived promptly, looks pretty much exactly like the picture, and the price was fair.

Wood is badly glued and was already bending back and forth when I first looked at it. It was bound to fall apart very soon. I got my husband to put L-brackets on to reinforce it. Total pain in the butt.

When I saw this it was exactly what I wanted. It came in a short time and we installed it on the pantry door. We live in a rental house and that was where the old one was. So far so good, until you bump into it. It broke into pieces. We have tried to super glue it a few times but now it is time to try something a little stronger. If it will be somewhere where you won't bump into it I think it would work great.

I had a plastic paper towel holder in my garage and every time I would try to tear off a sheet I would pull the whole roll off the holder. I bought this holder and I no longer have this problem. I recommend this for any garage anywhere.

The joint that connects the sides with the back is very weak. I had to take it apart and glue it together. All that was holding it together were a few nails. Otherwise it works fine and looks nice.
