I have insulin dependent diabetes and so I need to carefully count the grams of carbohydrates that I consume. This scale allows me to enter a 3-digit code for a food item, and then it tells me the weight of the portion and the number of grams of carbohydrates. Then I can easily calculate the amount of insulin that I must inject. I have had this scale for about two years and it has worked perfectly. This scale has made my life (as a diabetic) a lot easier. I highly recommend it.

I just received this scale as a replacement for one I bought from Salter a few years ago. It seems fine although unlike the previous model I need my glasses to read this one. The reason I am writing this review is to say how impressed I am with the company for quickly replacing my broken scale without any questions with one that while different, is certainly equal to the previous model.

I purchased this so I could see just how much the food I was eating affected me. To my surprise I was really over estimating my portions. I use this almost daily. I have also purchased containers which will replicate my portions after I use the scale. Can actually say that once I reduced the sizes of what I have been consuming I have started to loose weight.

This nutritional calculator and food scale weighs what I eat and figures the bite it takes out of my daily allotment. On the glass top is the recognizable nutrition label. I simply input the code, place my food on top, and the scale generates all the nutritional information I need, including the weight, percentage of daily value, and my daily total. It all adds up to perfect portion control, which was my downfall.

The numbers are small, so place in a well lighted area, and get out your glasses, if needed.
