There are two problems with this and the other sizes of Norpro Krona strainers. One is the weak handle attachment that can, and does, break when you try to tap out the food. Reviews of other size strainers mention this problem and it happened with mine, though my son re-welded the handle on with a much stronger weld. The second problem is the rim, which has enough space between it and the mesh to trap grains, even as large as rice, when you try to remove them after rinsing. It takes a lot of time to try to clean out the stuck grains and seeds and over time the space between the rim and mesh has become disgusting, despite my efforts to clean everything out of the space.
If Norpro were to redesign this strainer with a stronger handle attachment and a rim that wouldn't allow food to get stuck in it, this would be a great product for someone looking for a very fine mesh strainer. As it is, this strainer has more flaws than redeeming features.

Was trying to replace my tea strainer that looked similar and I was going by memory. this is NOT suitable for straining tea. This is a mesh similar to a sifter. small enough for powdered sugar, but too big for tea. Would have been nice if the mesh was labeled as to how fine or not fine the mesh was. No big deal though because of the price. I'm sure I will find a use for it.Best Deals for Norpro 2132 Stainless Strainer
This strainer is great for sifting small amounts of powdered sugar or cocoa. However, it's too small to use with a tea mug. The little 'feet' that would hold it over the cup are too short and it falls in the mug.
It's well made and a good value. Do keep in mind it's only 2 1/2 " across.
